One of the common features of computers infected with malware is frequent window pop ups, when you keep on receiving pop up which you didn’t click on then you should scan your computer. This is always annoying because they come unexpectedly and they contain things which are not relevant to you like adverts and campaigns. We can avoid some of this if we don’t click any suspicious pop-up windows which might contain irrelevant things, also don’t respond to unwanted emails, also be mindful of the type of application you download from the internet especially free applications because not all free applications are virus free. Some comes with infected malwares.
To remove this from your computer, you will need to get a strong internet spyware and anti-virus which will help you block suspected activities. Like the blue coat k9 web protection is software that helps to block unwanted sites when using the internet and anti-virus software’s like the Avast, webroot, use firewall whenever you are using the internet.

Another sign of malware infection is when you notice your files are missing or your files are been renamed, or you notice your space is increasing instead of decreasing on your computer, then scan your laptop because there might be some malicious applications that are causing changes in the computer system tis application will eat u files and delete files and application without your permission.

Another malware sign is when your computer or program crash all the time. Especially when your computer continuously bring out BSOD(blue screen of death) when your computer turns to blue screen and starts running some error codes, in this situation, there are two thing which might be wrong. The first is either your computer is dealing with a technical issue either of hardware or software incapability, while the second is if your computer is infected with malware that is virus. If you think it’s a technical issue then check the software’s on your computer. If similar software’s are running at the same time this tends to happen so you have to be mindful of the type of software’s you install. Don’t install multiple software that performs the same operation on the computer system. And if you think the computer is crashing due to malware Infection then you need a good antivirus to do a complete scan on the computer system. You can use Avast, Kaspersky, webroot etc. there are also strong anti-virus software’s you can get for your computer. Then do a complete scan and let the application fix the problem.

In recent times, another sign of malware infection is modifications to your browser homepage or tool bar. You see things and links which you didn’t put, you don’t even know how it got there and you are not able to remove them from the homepage because they are caused by a strong virus. This happens whenever you mistakenly click on pop up adverts or click on software downloads. This automatically stores the content into the computer system and they are most times difficult to remove. To remove this, you will need to run a full system scan on your computer with a strong anti-virus and or any strong anti-spy wares. Which some are listed some above.

Whenever you open application on your computer and it keeps on telling you “program not responding” or your computer automatically shuts down without no reason or open application and close them automatically then check your Anti-virus system if it’s up to date, also scan your computer to find any malicious application. If all this is done and the problem still persist then I think it’s a technical problem it’s facing.

Steps to take if your computer is infected with Virus and Other Malicious problems

First of all before I proceed every computer need to have an anti-virus software on the system because no system is free from contacting virus. That’s why it is advisable to install anti-virus software on a computer. Now let me proceed to the steps to take when your computer is infected with virus.

1.      Backup your trusted files:

By this am talking about backing up your files which you know is not infected with virus.  Backing up every file on the system is not advisable because you can also backup some infected files along with it. You need to back up your files so that eventually if you want to remove the infected files you won’t remove it with the ones you need.

2.      Make sure your Anti-virus definitions are up to date:

When your anti-virus definitions are up to date, and you have a strong anti-virus program like Avast. Kaspersky, AVG, or webroot. Then do a complete scan of all the files on your computer. Before that, make sure you are not connected to the internet. If you are using a laptop then disconnect from the internet from the status bar. And if you are using a desktop then disconnect the Ethernet cable.

3.      Locate Disk Fragmentation on your computer system:

By doing this, it helps you to systematically arrange your files in the computer system. Disk fragmentation helps to reduce slowing down of computers especially when there’s a lot on the computer system.

4.      Scan your computer thoroughly till no infection is found:

There are different software’s which you can use to scan your computer thoroughly for virus and other malware. We have the “hitman pro” which will help you remove all malware on your computer system, and also the Kaspersky anti-virus system. All this programs helps to remove virus and keep the computer protected.

5.      Clean up unused program and files:

It’s advisable to clean up unused files and programs on the computer system because piling of files and program which are not in use or important to you can attract virus to the computer system. There are different software’s which you can use to do this like system ninja, c cleaner. It will help you wipe out all temporary files and unused files from the computer system.

6.      You can also use system restore point:

To be completely safe, I advise you to completely remove the restore points because system restore are also prone to contain virus. To do this on windows 7, navigate to your “start menu” then left click on “computer” then select “properties” which will be the last on the sub menu list, then click on “system protection” on the left menu, then it might bring out a prompt for you to input your administrator password or confirmation, then after that, click on the “system protection lab” then click on “configure” then click delete then “OK”. That’s all your system will be restored back.

It is important to always take note and be cautious on whatever we are doing with our computers especially when connected to the internet. Also be mindful on the types of things you install on the computer system because they can also cause virus infection. Keep all these signs and solution in mind and stay safe.
