How can I use My Android Device Manager feature??
Every
android phone enables this feature as long as your Google account is connected
with your phone. So before you do this, make sure your Google account is logged
in on your phone or on your computer.
1. The first thing to always do before
this feature can be used efficiently is to make sure your Google account is
connected to your phone or to your computer and the device administrator
manager is activated on the lost or stolen phone through the security settings.
If you don’t know how to activate this, simply go to your settings, then locate
your security settings, then look for Device Administrator manager. Make sure
this feature is activated before you can use the “Google find my phone”
feature. If the device administrator is not activated on your phone then the
“Google find my phone” won’t work.
- To find your phone, simply log on to
your Google account, when you are logged in then navigate to your account
settings. There you will be able to find this feature or simply use the Google
search and type in “find my phone” then it will bring it out. Then click on it
and it will navigate to your Google account settings showing you the list of
your phones that are connected to your Google account.
- Now select the phones which you want to trace either you want to locate it, erase it, lock it, or make it ring, just select the device. Once you select the device then a list will be brought out for you either to locate the phone or to make it ring. Also, there are various features you can use by contacting your network carrier to help you block your sim, and also other features you can use.
- After you have selected the “locate” option, then it starts to find the location of the lost or stolen phone. When the device location is ON, it will enable an accurate location of the mobile device.
- After the device has been located you
will be able to see the distance form your present location and the address, you
can also lock the phone so that anyone won’t have access to use the phone. You
can also do this by clicking on “lock” which is part of the below option of the
“find my phone” window.
- Also, under the below options you can also make your phone ring in case you misplaced the phone inside the house or in your car. The phone will ring at its highest volume so that you will be able to hear and trace where the sound is coming from.
- Also, under this feature you can erase all the things on your phone, either music, pictures, files etc. you can easily do this just by clicking on “erase” then you will be asked to confirm before erasing your phone. Then everything on the phone will be deleted.
Please Note:
- · When you erase the phone through this feature, the erased contents can’t be recovered because it has been permanently deleted.
- · Also, the password you use to lock your device will be used to unlock it when your device is recovered.
- · This feature can only work when your Android device administrator is enabled.
- · The location can only be accurate only if your device location is turned on.
- · This entire feature can only work when your device is connected to the internet either through Wi-Fi or through data connection.
This is
great because you don’t even need any third party application to track your
phone and to remotely lock it. All thanks to the Android device administrator
